Haven man faces

charges for crash

SAINT CLAIR - A Schuylkill Haven man suffered moderate injuries from a crash at 7:44 a.m. on Route 61 about two miles north of Saint Clair in Blythe Township.

State police at Frackville said the crash occurred as 1998 Ford Explorer driven by Brandon M. Donati, 17, of Schuylkill Haven, was traveling north on Route 61 in the passing lane and was passing traffic at a speed that was too fast for the road conditions.

When driving around a left curve, he lost control of the vehicle, which spun 170 degrees counterclockwise then backwards across the right northbound lane and onto a low shoulder adjacent to the right lane.

The vehicle then partially rolled onto its driver side, struck the guiderail with the rear corner of the vehicle, slid across the northbound shoulder, flipped back onto its wheels, crossed both lanes and the left northbound shoulder and struck the left guiderail.

Donati climbed out of the vehicle and collapsed on the roadside.

He was transported to Schuylkill Medical Center-South Jackson Street by Saint Clair Ambulance to treatment for moderate injuries.

Donati faces charges for driving too fast for conditions.

Assisting at the scene was Rescue Hook and Ladder and Columbia Hose Company, both of Saint Clair.
