Lebanon Valley

Lebanon Valley College, Annville, has selected 48 full-time students to serve as resident assistants for the 2013-14 academic year. RAs live in the residence halls and serve as mentors and role models.

Local students who were among those selected include Jeffrey Bates, Pine Grove; Savannah Bottor, Pottsville; Kyler Burke, Pine Grove; Kiely Chaklos, Frackville; Alyssa Miller, Schuylkill Haven; and Kaitlyn Schroding, New Philadelphia.

Lebanon Valley College students have elected 36 of their peers to serve as student government members for the 2013-14 academic year.

One of the student government's major responsibilities is to foster understanding, communication and cooperation among students, faculty and administrators.

Local students who were elected to serve with the student government include Stephanie Price, Mahanoy City; Kiely Chaklos, Frackville; Jeffrey Bates, Pine Grove; and Julian Gerace, Tamaqua.

Lycoming

John Koch, Schuylkill Haven, a junior business administration major at Lycoming College, Williamsport, was nominated for the Pennsylvania Association of Colleges and Employers JoAnne Day Student of the Year Award for business.

Koch was nominated for the award after interning with Schuylkill Health in Pottsville, this past summer and competed against students from other universities in Pennsylvania for the award.
