Two Pine Grove Area Middle School students took the stage in Lebanon Community Theatre's production of "The Sound of Music."

Ethan Tucker played Kurt Von Trapp and Morgan Flick played the role of Louisa Von Trapp, two of seven children in the famous singing family.

This is Ethan's second appearance with LCT, having performed this past summer as Randolph MacAfee in "Bye Bye Birdie." For Morgan, this marks her third appearance with LCT, having performed as Duffy in "Annie" in 2012, and as Belinda Cratchit in "Scrooge" in 2011. Both enjoy music lessons and singing in the middle school chorus.

Ethan is in sixth grade and is a son of Bradley and Dawn Tucker, Pine Grove. Morgan is in seventh grade and is a daughter of Russ and Korey Flick, Pine Grove.

Adviser award

Megan Frantz, a Title I math teacher for sixth, seventh and eighth grades in the Tamaqua Area School District, was awarded the 2013 Pennsylvania Association of Student Councils Middle Level Adviser of the Year award.

Woman fellow

Lillian M. Freiler, Orwigsburg, was accepted into the Fellow of the Academy of Professional Reporters at recent convention of the National Court Reporters Association.

She is a freelance court reporter in Schuylkill and surrounding counties. Her career as a court reporter started in 1975 when she worked for the Schuylkill County Court of Common Pleas until she retired in 1997 to pursue court reporting in the freelance arena.

Fellowship in the Academy of Professional Reporters is a professional distinction conferred upon a person of outstanding and extraordinary qualifications and experience in the field of shorthand reporting by the National Court Reporters Association. Candidates for Fellow are required to have been in the active practice of reporting for at least 10 years, and to have attained distinction as measured by performance (which includes publication of important papers, creative contributions, service on committees or boards, teaching, etc.).

Freiler is immediate past president of the Pennsylvania Court Reporters Association and has served on many committees on the state and national levels, as well as presenting seminars and workshops relating to the court reporting profession, career day presentations and software training. She has also attended the National Court Reporters Association's legislative boot camp and leadership programs, is a registered merit reporter and is a certified manager of reporting services.
