3 escape injury

in snowy crash

NEW RINGGOLD - Three people escaped injury Saturday when a vehicle slid on a snow-covered road in East Brunswick Township and struck a rock embankment and flipped, state police at Frackville said Sunday.

Alejandro Oritz-Lebron, 46, of Reading, was driving a 2000 Dodge Dakota west on State Route 895 when he lost control and the vehicle started to slide 2/10 of a mile east of Hope Avenue, police said.

It hit the embankment, flipped and came to rest on all four tires, coming to rest on the south side of the road, police said.

Oritz-Lebron's vehicle had insufficient tire tread and he will receive several traffic citations, police said.

His passengers included Wilbert Camacho-Rivera, 39, and Carlos G. Pagan-Rivera, 32, both of Reading, police said.

Police probe

power tool theft

NEW PHILADELPHIA - A burglar removed several construction and power tools from a residence in the borough between Thursday night and Friday morning, state police at Frackville said Sunday.

Between 11:30 p.m. Thursday and 9 a.m. Friday, a burglar broke into a side entrance at 196 Valley St., property owned by Jason Williams, 41, and stole the items, police said.

Driver not hurt

in 1-vehicle crash

DONALDSON - A Pine Grove man escaped injury when he lost control of his vehicle and crashed Saturday on Interstate 81 in Frailey Township, state police at Frackville said Sunday.

At 5:26 p.m. Saturday, Justin B. Zalusky, 22, was driving a 2003 Lexus ES300 northbound in the left lane when he lost control near mile marker 107.9, police said.

The vehicle went off the right shoulder, spun clockwise and the driver side hit the concrete barrier. Then, the vehicle did one complete spin and hit the guide rail before coming to rest on the right shoulder. The vehicle had to be towed, police said.

Zalusky with be cited for failing to stay in his lane, police said.

CRESSONA - State police at Schuylkill Haven are looking for the hit-and-run driver who struck a vehicle parked at Cressona Mall in North Manheim Township at 3 p.m. Thursday, police said Friday.
