n Buckhorn: A program called Wheelchair Engineers, featuring wheelchair-accessible model train layouts, runs from noon to 4 p.m. Saturdays at Columbia Mall. Master craftsman Earl Wagner provides free instruction to children and adults to expand the layout. Instruction and materials are free.

n Nuremberg: Now and until the second week of January, the Twin County Joint Municipal Authority's 2014 budget will be available for review at the office, 309 Mahanoy St. Those who would like to view the budget should call the office to make arrangements.

n Nuremberg: The Nuremberg Country Christians Youth Group has reserved tickets for the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins hockey game slated for 7:05 p.m. Feb. 22. Tickets are free for youth group members and $16 for anyone else who would like to go. The price includes the game (seats are in the red zone), a McDonald's value meal ticket, a Penguins hat and the promotion item for that night, an all-star poster. n Nuremberg: The Nuremberg Country Christians Youth Group will sing Christmas carols in the community on Sunday. The group will meet at 6 p.m. at Emmanuel Lutheran Church and return there for refreshments after caroling. Those attending should dress appropriately for the weather and bring a flashlight. n Pottsville: In a press release, the Pottsville Gymnastics & Theatrical Center Inc. said several of its performing arts students have been invited to perform at "A Majestic Christmas" with Bradley Dean and Ron Stabinsky, scheduled for 7 p.m. Monday at the Sovereign Majestic Theater, North Centre Street. The students are participants in workshops in New York City with Dean that are sponsored by PGTC. Soloists will include Reiley Lonergan, Jacob Tarconish and Kayla Sabol. Additional performers will be Kylee Clark, Kieffer Quandel, Gabrielle Quandel, Morgan Flick, Celena Granito, Lauren Tidmore, Jeffrey Lazarchick and Sarah Leibel. Additionally, members of PGTC's Spotlight Kidz will participate. Tickets are available by calling the theater box office at 570-628-4647. Tickets will also be available at the door.

n Pottsville: Theresa Santai Gaffney, Schuylkill County register of wills and clerk of the orphans' court, released the following report for November: Estates processed, 79; marriage licenses issued, 35; adoptions completed, 4; inheritance tax remitted to the commonwealth, $200,823.13; county fees collected, $16,956.25.

n Pottsville: The Longest Night/Blue Christmas Service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Sunday at Trinity Lutheran Church, 300 W. Arch St. It's free and for all ages. According to a church release, Christmas can be a painful time for some. "It may be the first Christmas without a loved one. We need the space and time to acknowledge our sadness and concern. We need to know we are not alone. This short service of prayers, scripture, candlelighting and music is open to everyone, regardless of church background." For more information, call 570-622-9910.

n Pottsville: The Anthracite Philharmonic, under the direction of Mark P. Thomas, will present "Christmas Pops" at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at First United Methodist Church, Third and Market streets. Tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for senior citizens. Students are free. Everyone is welcome. The concert originally was scheduled earlier but had to be reslated due to a winter storm.

n Ringtown: Everyone is invited to join in Christmas caroling at 7 p.m. Monday. Carolers will meet at St. Paul's United Church of Christ, 100 E. Main St. The group will then carol through the town and return to St. Paul's for refreshments. People are advised to dress appropriately and bring a flashlight.

n Shenandoah: The Bernardine Franciscan Sisters and Associates pray the Divine Mercy Chaplet and recite the rosary at 3 p.m. every Friday in the Father Walter J. Ciszek Chapel, 231 N. Jardin St., and the public is invited to participate. The chapel is adjacent to St. Casimir Roman Catholic Church, the native parish of Ciszek, who is a candidate for sainthood in the Catholic Church.
