Prosecutors withdrew a charge Wednesday in Schuylkill County Court against a Schuylkill Haven woman who allegedly had violated a protection from abuse order in November.
Virginia Y. Bressler, 23, had been charged with indirect criminal contempt, which is contempt committed outside the courtroom.
However, Assistant District Attorney Douglas J. Taglieri said the alleged victim no longer wanted to proceed with the case.
State police at Schuylkill Haven had charged Bressler with violating the order on Nov. 26 in South Manheim Township. Judge Charles M. Miller had entered the order against Bressler on Jan. 23.
Also in the county court, prosecutors have withdrawn a charge against a Pottsville man who allegedly provided alcohol to a minor in December 2012.
Drai F. Miller, 22, had been charged with selling or furnishing liquor to minors. Pottsville police alleged he committed that crime on Dec. 21, 2012, in the city.
President Judge William E. Baldwin entered an order on Monday allowing prosecutors to withdraw the charge and directing the defendant to pay the costs of the case.
