PINE GROVE - A boil water advisory is in effect for the borough until further notice.
The advisory is the result of a water line break on Cherry Street on Wednesday. Pine Grove street department fixed the leak as of 1 p.m., Fickinger said.
About 50 customers are affected who use the water system, Tom Fickinger, borough council member, said Wednesday. Water had to be shut off on Fairview, Cherry and Staller streets to fix the problem.
As result of a drop in pressure or loss due to the repair, contaminates could enter the system. Borough residents should bring the water to a rolling boil and keep it at that temperature for one minute.
Boiled water or bottled water should be used for brushing teeth, washing dishes, preparing food or drinking, the Pine Grove water department said.
Those affected will be notified when the advisory is lifted.
