SAINT CLAIR - The borough council did not take any action Tuesday night after Susquahanna Bank inquired on the borough's position on taking ownership of Woodland Terrace.
During his report Tuesday, borough engineer Brian Baldwin of Alfred Benesch & Co., Pottsville, said that the bank would like to know the borough's position on taking ownership of Lots 26 to 33 and the drainage structures on these lots, including the detention pond, swales and rain gardens, once the drainage system is complete.
"I'm reluctant to accept ownership," borough council Vice President Michael Petrozino said.
The borough hasn't officially received anything as far as what the bank is proposing.
Progress is being made at Woodland Terrace and the borough is waiting for the drainage system to be completed.
The bank told the borough that if it is not interested, the lots will be revised to accommodate possibly three building lots.
Issues in Woodland Terrace have been ongoing since the Montgomery County developer of the Woodland Terrace subdivision, Hunter Ridge Development Co., Skippack, agreed to complete the remaining work by Thanksgiving 2007, including road compaction and work to detention ponds and infiltration bed and storm water running off the property and affecting neighboring residents.
The borough filed a lawsuit in 2008.
In other business during the public comment portion of the meeting, two borough residents, Norm Diehl and Terry Wyland, asked the borough council if members would be interested in donating their salary to help Saint Clair with its budget as some other municipalities have done.
"It never came up," borough council President James Larish said. "I don't know."
The borough council would not comment any further.
