With a jury ready to hear her case, Jamielynn Reilly admitted Thursday in Schuylkill County Court that she tried to hire a man to assault two people in Sheppton.
Reilly, 36, of Sheppton, pleaded guilty to two counts of criminal solicitation to commit aggravated assault. Prosecutors withdrew three additional counts of criminal solicitation and three counts of conspiracy.
Judge John E. Domalakes, who had been slated to preside over Reilly's trial, instead accepted her plea, ordered preparation of a presentence investigation and scheduled sentencing for 10 a.m. March 18.
After entering her plea, Reilly was handcuffed and led back to prison, where she is being held in lieu of $150,000 straight cash bail. While Domalakes kept that bail amount, he also ordered Reilly to have no contact with her victims.
During the hearing, Reilly said little except to indicate she understood her plea and that it was voluntary.
Prosecutors said they will ask Domalakes to sentence Reilly to serve four to 10 years in a state correctional institution, plus additional time on probation.
Assistant Public Defender Kent D. Watkins, Reilly's lawyer, said he would present evidence during the sentencing hearing on Reilly's mental condition, but did not indicate what specific sentence he would seek.
Schuylkill County police alleged that on Feb. 19, 2013, Reilly asked Rafael Lopez, Shenandoah, if he knew anyone who could assault Brian J. Treco and Kelly Feeko, both of Sheppton, and that she would pay to have it done. Lopez contacted one of the intended targets, who called the police, according to prosecutors.
At the defendant's preliminary hearing on March 14, 2013, before Magisterial District Judge Anthony J. Kilker, Shenandoah, an undercover detective testified that Reilly told him to "just shoot them in the head or chest."
Reilly also said she could pay $500 up front and then additional money when the people were dead, prosecutors allege.
Domalakes made sure Reilly's intended targets accepted the resolution of the case.
"You're in agreement with this?" Domalakes asked Treco and Feeko during Thursday's hearing.
"Yes," each answered.
After Thursday's hearing, Watkins and Assistant District Attorney Debra A. Smith each declined to comment on the case.
Domalakes thanked the jurors who had been selected to hear the case and told them that Reilly had entered her plea and they could go home.Defendant: Jamielynn Reilly
