n Ashland: The Ashland Area Historic Preservation Society will hold a "Show and Tell" at 7 p.m. Wednesday at its meeting at 316-318 Centre St. Attendees are asked to bring an item of historical interest if possible. The meeting will also include election of officers. Light refreshments will be served. The public is welcome.

n Friedensburg: Blue Mountain West Fest will take place from noon to 7 p.m. March 1 at Blue Mountain Elementary West. The event will include free choral concerts, an art show and PTO food sales throughout the day. A basket raffle will be held to benefit the American Cancer Society. n Shenandoah: The Schuylkill Historical Fire Society Museum, 105 S. Jardin St., is open for fire department, school and private tours. There is no charge but donations are gratefully accepted, according to the society website, which also lists museum hours as 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. Appointments can be made for visits at other times by calling President Michael Kitsock at 570-628-3691 or Vice President William Kline at 570-622-3678. Membership inquiries are welcome. Call the museum at 570-462-4400. The museum was formally dedicated in 1999 with several commemorative events and a dedication parade. Housed in the former Columbia Hose & Steam Fire Company station, the site also serves as the society's headquarters. Its collection of equipment and other artifacts is among the finest anywhere. n Summit Hill: The Summit Hill Food Pantry is located in the Summit Hill Heritage Center, Hazard and Chestnut streets. Distribution is from 10 to 11:30 a.m. on Tuesdays: Feb. 25, March 25, April 15, May 27, June 24, July 22, Aug. 26, Sept. 23, Oct. 28; and on Mondays: Nov. 24 and Dec. 22. Recipients should bring strong shopping or tote bags. Participants may not park in the alley prior to 9:45 a.m. and no parking is allowed in the nearby vacant lot.

n William Penn: A benefit event for Robert Mummey, a leukemia patient, is set for 4 p.m. to midnight today at the William Penn Firehouse, 166 Mount Olive Blvd. The admission fee is $25 per adult and $12.50 for children under 12. Children under 5 are free. The ticket price includes dinner, beverages and entertainment. Two bands, Another Side and One Inch Gap, will perform. There will also be a silent auction of products and services donated by local businesses and families. All money raised will help the family with medical expenses.
