MINERSVILLE - Borough police have obtained arrest warrants for a husband and wife on drug charges stemming from an incident about 7 p.m. Monday.

Police said Lynn A. Fekette, 39, and Scott Fekette, 43, both of 34 Carbon St., were charged with one felony count each of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and conspiracy; two misdemeanor counts of conspiracy; and one misdemeanor count each of possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The warrants were issued by Magisterial District Judge David A. Plachko, Port Carbon, police said.

Patrolman Jeffrey Bowers, the arresting officer, said the charges were the result of a search warrant executed at the couple's home by himself and officers Richard Clink, Creighton Byron and Cynthia Shpakovsky.

During the search, Bowers said, officers found and seized two digital scales, re-sealable baggies commonly used to package narcotics, a glass smoking device, a small clear plastic baggie with a green dollar sign on it containing suspected methamphetamine and a mirror, a straw and a playing card that all had narcotics residue on them.

After being read her rights, Bowers said, Lynn Fekette said she and her husband, Scott, would regularly purchase an "eight ball," 1/8 ounce of methamphetamine, for $450 from sources both in and out of Minersville and bring it to their home.

Once there, the woman said, they would break down the drug into smaller baggies worth about $50 each and sell it from their home, Bowers said.

Although the woman said the sales would be primarily from their home, they would also sell drugs at Sunny Rod and Gun Club in Norwegian Township, the officer said.

Bowers said Lynn Fekette also told him the couple would get the drug from her husband's "associates" or from other sources in Minersville and that the last time they had sold drugs from their home was a day or two before the warrant was served.

Bowers said Lynn Fekette also told him neither she nor her husband are employed, and they sell drugs from their home as a source of income.

She also acknowledged that the items found in the home were for both distribution and for personal use by her and her husband, police said.

Bowers said the methamphetamine found inside Lynn Fekette's purse during the warrant was wrapped and packaged for resale and was in the exact same re-sealable bags with dollar signs on them that were found in large quantities inside the home.
