A Pottsville woman will not have to spend more time in prison after being sentenced Monday in Schuylkill County Court for three separate criminal incidents in the city.

Marissa J. Miller, 36, was sentenced to time served to 12 months in prison, plus 11 months additional probation, by Judge Jacqueline L. Russell, who granted her immediate parole.

Russell also sentenced Miller to pay costs, a $100 fine, $100 to the Substance Abuse Education Fund, $150 to the Criminal Justice Enhancement Account and $100 restitution and perform 80 hours community service.

Miller pleaded guilty Wednesday to possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, defiant trespass, criminal mischief and theft, with prosecutors withdrawing charges of disorderly conduct and receiving stolen property.

Pottsville police filed all three sets of charges against Miller, alleging she possessed drugs and paraphernalia on April 9, 2013, trespassed on March 20, 2013, and stole money on March 20, 2013.

In other recent Schuylkill County Court action, President Judge William E. Baldwin on Wednesday accepted guilty pleas from, and, pursuant to agreements between prosecutors and defendants, imposed the indicated sentences on these people:

William Spearman, 26, of Pottsville; driving under the influence; six months probation and $300 fine. Prosecutors withdrew a charge of failure to drive at a safe speed.

Jason R. Steinbrunn, 23, of New Ringgold; recklessly endangering another person; 12 months probation, $50 CJEA payment and 10 hours community service. Prosecutors withdrew a charge of careless driving.

Andrew S. Stevens, 23, of Pine Grove; DUI and careless driving; 72 hours to six months in prison, $1,025 in fines, $100 SAEF payment and 10 hours community service, with sentence effective at 10 a.m. March 3.

Timothy S. Swain, 32, of Pottsville; possession of a controlled substance; 23 months probation and $100 SAEF payment. Prosecutors withdrew charges of delivery of a controlled substance, possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, conspiracy and criminal use of a communication facility.

Joshua Tassone, 24, of Schuylkill Haven; delivery of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia; one to 12 months in prison, $100 SAEF payment, $50 CJEA payment, $113 restitution to the state police crime laboratory in Bethlehem and submission of a DNA sample to law enforcement authorities. Prosecutors withdrew a charge of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance.

Carmelo Trinidad, 21, of McAdoo; possession of a small amount of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia; 12 months probation consecutive to Massachusetts sentence and $100 SAEF payment.

In other recent county court action, Baldwin on Feb. 19 accepted guilty pleas from, and, pursuant to agreements between prosecutors and defendants, imposed the indicated sentences on, these people:

Drai F. Miller, 22, of Pottsville; receiving stolen property, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia; time served to 23 months in prison with immediate parole and $25 restitution. Prosecutors withdrew two counts of recklessly endangering another person and one each of conspiracy, robbery, burglary, aggravated assault and theft.

Kayla M. Mock, 31, of Pottsville; theft; 12 months probation. Prosecutors withdrew a charge of receiving stolen property.

Robert D. Price, 37, of McAdoo; theft by deception and improper statement under penalty; six to 23 months on house arrest with electronic monitoring, 12 months consecutive probation, $31,040 restitution and submission of a DNA sample to law enforcement authorities, with sentence effective March 5.

Rachel Ann Serakas, 32, of Schuylkill Haven; criminal use of a communication facility and possession of drug paraphernalia; 23 months probation, $700 in fines, $100 SAEF payment, $50 CJEA payment and submission of a DNA sample to law enforcement authorities. Prosecutors withdrew charges of conspiracy, delivery of a controlled substance, possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance.

Francis Sloskey, 51, of Schuylkill Haven; DUI; five years in the intermediate punishment program, $1,500 fine, $100 SAEF payment, $60 restitution to Schuylkill Medical Center-South Jackson Street and 20 hours community service, with sentence effective at 9 a.m. March 3. Prosecutors withdrew a charge of disregarding traffic lane.

All defendants who were sentenced must pay costs as a part of their sentences.
