Criminal court, March 4, 2014

President Judge William E. Baldwin recently accepted guilty pleas from, and, pursuant to agreements between prosecutors and defendants, imposed the indicated sentences on, these people:

Jeffrey Chernesky, 35, of Shenandoah - driving under the influence; 72 hours to six months in prison with immediate parole, $1,000 fine, $300 payment to the Substance Abuse Education Fund, $460 restitution to Schuylkill Medical Center-South Jackson Street and 10 hours community service. Prosecutors withdrew a charge of stop sign violation.

David E. Dahms Jr., 37, of Auburn - possession of a controlled substance; time served to 12 months in prison with immediate parole, $100 SAEF payment, $50 payment to the Criminal Justice Enhancement Account and $50 bench warrant fee. Prosecutors withdrew a charge of false identification to law enforcement.

Bruce A. Dietrich, 41, of Auburn - defrauding secured creditors; one to 23 months in prison with immediate parole, $50 CJEA payment, $50 bench warrant fee, $714.46 restitution and 10 hours community service.

Thomas E. Fronczak, 44, of Mahanoy City - DUI, driving under suspension-DUI related and stop sign violation; 120 days to five years in prison, $1,525 in fines, $100 SAEF payment and 20 hours community service, with sentence effective at 9 a.m. Friday. Prosecutors withdrew a charge of seat belt violation.

Stephen T. Welsh, 24, of Lansford - retail theft; 12 months probation, $50 CJEA payment and $278 restitution. Prosecutors withdrew a charge of receiving stolen property.

Dan Whalen Sr., 53, of Schuylkill Haven - burglary and criminal trespass; time served to 23 months in prison with immediate parole and submission of a DNA sample to law enforcement authorities. Prosecutors withdrew charges of theft, theft by deception and receiving stolen property.

James D. Wolfe Jr., 31, of Minersville - possessing an instrument of crime; 23 months probation. Prosecutors withdrew charges of terroristic threats, simple assault and harassment.

Stephanie Yalsavec, 21, of Pottsville - purchase, consumption, possession or transportation of an alcoholic beverage; $300 fine. Prosecutors withdrew three counts of selling or furnishing alcoholic beverages to minors.

All defendants who were sentenced must pay costs as a part of their sentences.
