SHENANDOAH - A Barnesville man charged with fleeing from Shenandoah police on Jan. 13 appeared for a preliminary hearing before Magisterial District Judge Anthony J. Kilker.
Timothy S. Kelly, 29, whose last known address was 24 Grier Ave., was arrested by Capt. Michael O'Neill and charged with fleeing or attempting to elude police, accidents involving damage to attended vehicles or property, aggravated assault, simple assault, recklessly endangering another person, reckless driving, careless driving, driving at an unsafe speed, no rear lights, driving while operating privileges are suspended or revoked and criminal mischief.
Prosecutors withdrew the aggravated assault charge, and Kelly waived the remaining offenses for Schuylkill County Court.
O'Neill said Patrolman Joshua Pastucka tried to pull over an SUV for not having rear lights but the driver, later identified as Kelly, fled south on Route 924 and onto Furnace Street and then Pioneer Road before turning onto a dirt road that led to Yatesville Road.
On Yatesville Road, the SUV slowed abruptly and Kelly swerved at Pastucka's vehicle, forcing him off the road, O'Neill said.
The SUV briefly became stuck while trying to enter a dirt road, but Kelly put it in reverse and rammed the side of Pastucka's vehicle before fleeing on a pole line road.

Sophia M. Covach, 24, of 513 W. South St., Mahanoy City - waived for court: DUI, DUI-highest rate, driving at an unsafe speed and careless driving.
Melanie M. Zimmerman, 29, of 26 S. Catherine St., Shenandoah - waived for court: possession of drug paraphernalia.
Jade E. Boyle, 21, of 322 Orwigsburg St., Tamaqua - waived for court: possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, no rear lights and driving without a license.
Angela Pleva, 36, of 309 E. Centre St., Apt. B, Shenandoah - withdrawn: possession of drug paraphernalia.
Michelle M. Dunlap, 47, of 1111 E. Centre St., Mahanoy City - withdrawn: acquiring or obtaining a controlled substance by misrepresentation, criminal use of a communications facility, identity theft and possession of a controlled substance. Waived for court: acquiring or obtaining a controlled substance by misrepresentation, criminal use of a communications facility, identity theft and possession of a controlled substance.
