Orange vehicle

sought in incident

State police at Schuylkill Haven are searching for the driver of an orange vehicle which backed into another vehicle in Fairlane Village mall parking lot Saturday afternoon and fled the scene.

The vehicle was backing up out of a parking space at 2:50 p.m. and hit the right side of an eastbound 2005 Chevrolet Cobalt driven by Lindsay M. Andrews, 19, of Pottsville. Then the orange vehicle fled, heading south past Kohl's to Route 61, police said.

Man ejected

from car in crash

NUREMBERG - An Oneida man suffered a major injury when he drove off a road in North Union Township on Friday afternoon, struck a tree and was ejected, police said.

State police at Frackville said David D. Singley, 58, was driving a 1995 Dodge Intrepid northbound on Nuremberg Mountain Road, State Route 1005, at 1:45 p.m. when he failed drive a left curve a quarter mile south of Miller Road. He slid onto the shoulder of the northbound lane, spun, crossed the double yellow line, entered the southbound lane and hit a tree with the car's passenger side, police said.

In the process, Singley was ejected from the car, police said.

Singley was taken by ambulance to Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Wilkes-Barre, Trooper Matthew Barrett, the lead investigator on the case, said.

Singley was in serious condition Sunday, according to Tom Gibbon, a hospital spokesman.

The investigation is continuing, Barrett said Sunday.
