n New Ringgold: Gen. George S. Patton VFW Post 5069 is looking to have the names of West Penn Township veterans added to the township memorial. To be eligible, veterans must have been residents of the township at the time they joined the military. They also must have joined the military at times when the United States was engaged in a conflict. However, service in a combat zone is not required nor is it required that the veteran remained a West Penn resident after military service. Currently, according to the post, the memorial includes names from World War I and II, the Korean War and Vietnam War, with no representation for veterans who served in Iraq or Afghanistan.
