n Shenandoah: The borough will begin its weekly Street Sweeping Program on Monday on Main Street, both sides from Washington Street to the Gold Star Bridge, and Centre Street, both sides from White to West streets. Sweeping will take place each Monday and Friday, according to Joe Palubinsky, borough manager, who reminded residents to adhere to the posted signs.
n Tamaqua: Free community soup socials - outreach soup kitchens - are held from 4 to 6 p.m. the first Saturday of the month in Founders Hall at Trinity United Church of Christ, 22 Lafayette St. All are welcome. People should use the lower parking lot entrance to the hall.
