Woman hurt in

cycle crash

PINE GROVE - A Fredericksburg woman who suffered major injuries in a motorcycle crash Saturday evening on Geary Wolf Road in Pine Grove Township was in fair condition Monday evening, according to a hospital spokeswoman.

State police at Schuylkill Haven said Dawn S. Gassert, 51, was taken to Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, Hershey, for treatment of a major injury following the 5:25 p.m. crash.

According to police, Gassert was a passenger on a 2009 Harley-Davidson Dyna Super Glide driven by Greg M. Kreiser, 44, of Lebanon. Police said the motorcycle was traveling along the south shoulder of Geary Wolfe Road when it drifted to the outside of a left curve and crossed the fogline onto the shoulder that was covered in loose gravel.

Police said Kreiser lost control of the motorcycle and it crashed into the southbound guide rail.

Police said Kreiser suffered minor injuries and was also take to the medical center. The spokeswoman said Monday that he was treated and released.

Police noted that the travel lanes were dry and clear at the time of the crash.

Suedberg Fire Company and Pine Grove Area EMS assisted at the scene.

Pottsville man OK

in Berks accident

KRUMSVILLE - A Pottsville man escaped injury when the vehicle he was driving struck an object on Krumsville Road in Maxatawny Township, Berks County, about 3 a.m. Sunday, police said.

State police at Reading said Jeffrey M. Moyer was driving north when he struck a tire that was in the middle of the road.

Moyer, who was wearing his seat belt, was not hurt but his vehicle was towed from the scene, police said.
