Shen Rotary
Shenandoah Valley High School senior Erin Buchanan was named student of the month for March by the Shenandoah Rotary Club.
Erin's is a member of the District XI runner-up girls' basketball team, student council, Learn and Serve committee, National Honor Society, yearbook, Youth Conference and track team. She is senior class president, a powder puff football organizer and a morning announcements contributor. She was a window painting volunteer, homecoming queen, spring queen candidate and junior class vice president.
Erin's community service includes organizing and volunteering at the 2013 Ethnic Fair, organizing the Colin Rooney fundraiser and volunteering for the SPCA Christmas fundraiser, Pet Inoculation Day, six blood drives, Special Olympics, bingo at Shenandoah Senior Living Community and Hoops for Heart. She participated in the Walk Against Racism and is a member of the Anti-Defamation League Youth Conference. She was a fundraiser organizer and volunteer for Mrs. Carter, Paige Murphy, Class of 2014, Lyla's Hope, local fire victims, Toys for Tots and various fundraisers for student council and National Honor Society.
A daughter of Joseph and Kathy Buchanan, Shenandoah Heights, she plans to attend college and major in nursing.
