n Pottsville: The American Cancer Society Relay for Life of Pottsville is looking to register teams for the 2014 relay scheduled for 3 p.m. May 16 to 3 p.m. May 17 at the Pottsville Area School District's Veterans' Stadium, 1600 Elk Ave. Relay For Life events are held overnight as individuals and teams camp out at an athletic track, park or fairground, with the goal of keeping at least one team member on the track or pathway at all times, according to a society press release. Teams do most of their fundraising prior to the event, but some teams also hold creative fundraisers at their camp sites during the relay. n Shenandoah: Young readers will have the opportunity to explore all things scientific this summer via the Shenandoah Area Free Public Library's "Fizz, Boom, Read!" Activities will include science experiments, robot building, Grossology fun and nature explorations. The summer reading program is open to young people in preschool through young adult with prize drawings, story hours and a reading club.
