n Friedensburg: The annual Schuylkill County Youth Field Day will begin at 8 a.m. May 17 at the Friedensburg Fish & Game Association sponsored by the Schuylkill County Sportsmen's Association for youths ages 10 to 15 accompanied by an adult. Registration will be limited to 120. Activities include black powder shooting, canoeing, air rifle forestry, trapping, archery and fishing. n Shenandoah: A Dueling Pianos fundraiser is set for 7 to 10 p.m. May 9 at the Columbia Hose Company, West Centre Street and Stadium Road, to benefit the Shenandoah Valley "Lady Devils" girls' basketball team. Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door, which includes food and beverages. The event is for people 21 and older. n Shenandoah: The Shenandoah Rotary Club will sponsor a pet inoculation from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday at the Rescue Hook and Ladder Firehouse, Main and Coal streets. Dr. Michele Mattea of Brookside Animal Hospital will administer shots at $10 each.
n Shenandoah: The Shenandoah Rotary Club has an ongoing program of providing American flags in honor of relatives or friends who are serving or have served in the armed forces. The cost is $20 per flag and the banners will be displayed in the borough throughout the year for significant holidays. Those who buy flags will receive certificates from the Rotary acknowledging the memory or honor contribution. The Rotarians hope the project will eliminate weathering of the community's patriotic display flags. n Shenandoah: The Schuylkill Historical Fire Society Museum, 105 S. Jardin St., is open for fire department, school and private tours. There is no charge for tours but donations are gratefully accepted, according to the society website, which also lists museum hours as 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
