n Auburn: The Auburn Area Historical Society will host a free outdoor concert, weather permitting, from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday at Auburn Memorial Park, Fifth Street, featuring Nashville recording artist Chad Reinert. The Auburn Fire Company will sell refreshments at the event with proceeds benefiting the company. Call 570-754-7991. No alcoholic beverages are allowed.

n Millersburg: The Gallery on the Square, 226 Union St., is featuring the art of Williams Valley and Upper Dauphin Area art students now through May 17. Gallery hours are 2 to 5 p.m. Thursdays and Fridays and 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays. All are welcome.

n Pine Grove: A spaghetti dinner and Chinese auction to benefit the Alicia Maria Gurski Memorial Scholarship Fund from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday at 222 S. Tulpehocken St. The sixth annual event will also include a lottery tree raffle. All are welcome. For more information, call 570-640-8371.

n Pine Grove: A spring bird walk is set for 9 to 11 a.m. Sunday at Sweet Arrow Lake County Park. Naturalist Denise "Night Owl" Donmoyer will lead the trek to identify from sight and song resident and migratory species that inhabit the park. It is possible participants may see a bald eagle. The walk is free and participants will meet in the park's waterfall parking lot. In the event of rain, the walk will be canceled. For more information, call 570-345-8952.

n Pine Grove: The Pine Grove Masonic Lodge will sponsor a steak, grilled ham, pork chops and fish dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. May 16 at the lodge, 23 Oak Grove Road. The cost is $11 per meal and the public is welcome. Children's platters will also be available. For more information or takeouts, call 570-345-0165.

n Pottsville: Tickets are available now for a comedy night titled "Laugh 4 Lungs" in memory of Jesse Lishman, to be held 6 to 11 p.m. May 17 at Pine View Acres, Chamberlaine Avenue. The event will feature comedian Earl David Reed. Tickets at $15 in advance and $20 at door. For tickets, call 570-516-3591 or 570-294-1238. Tickets are also available at Sage Coffee House, downtown Pottsville. Proceeds will benefit the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

n Pottsville: The Pottsville Kiwanis Club, during a recent meeting in the Pottsville Zone, awarded the Dr. Bruce Fellows Community Service award to students Shea Polley and Rachel Shields of Pottsville Area High School and Madeline A. Dowd and Zachary M. Adams of Nativity BVM High School.

n Shenandoah: The William Penn Fire Company will sponsor a Longaberger Basket bingo at 2 p.m. May 18 at the Columbia Hose Company, West Centre Street and Stadium Road. Doors will open at 12:30 p.m. For tickets or more information, call 570-462-2242.

n Tamaqua: The Black Diamond Writers' Network, a 501(c)(a) nonprofit organization, will meet from 10 a.m. to noon May 17 at the Tamaqua Public Library, 30 S. Railroad St. During the session, members will provide feedback for aspiring writers. Writers who with to have their work critiqued should bring one page of a work-in-progress, double-spaced. Writers are asked to bring 15 copies of their piece for the other attendees. n Tamaqua: The Tamaqua Hunger Walk is set fo 2 p.m. May 18 with registration to begin at 1:15 p.m. at the St. Luke's medical facility parking lot, Railroad Street. Walkers are encouraged to round up sponsors for their walks. The rain date for the event is May 25. Information about the event and participation sheets can be downloaded at www.taffn.org or can be picked up at the Tamaqua Chamber of Commerce office, 114 W. Broad St. The walk is part of Hunger Weekend, a project of the Tamaqua Area Community Partnership and the Tamaqua Area Faith Fellowship Network.
