Police: Security video shows suspects of tire slashings

SCHUYLKILL HAVEN - Schuylkill County Crime Stoppers and Schuylkill Haven police are asking for the public's help in finding those responsible for slashing the tires on numerous vehicles in the borough.

The incidents that resulted in 13 vehicles having tires damaged or destroyed occurred between 2 and 3 a.m. Tuesday.

Police said the damage was reported primarily on the west side of the borough in the area of Stoyer's Dam and on West Columbia and West Main streets.

Security video in the area of the vandalism showed two white men who appear to be in their early 20s. One of the men was wearing a two-tone hoodie and jeans while the other was wearing a light-colored T-shirt and shorts, police said.

The men were recorded in the area of West Main and St. James streets at 2:17 a.m., police said.

Schuylkill County Crime Stoppers will pay up to $1,000 for information on the identity of those responsible for this crime or on any other unsolved crime in Schuylkill County.

Callers are asked to refer to incident 05-11-14 when calling with information about the criminal mischief incidents in Schuylkill Haven.
