ORWIGSBURG - The Orwigsburg Police Department responded to a call Sunday at 750 E. Market St. in the borough for a disturbance.
According to a police report, officers responded to a disturbance that was followed by a report of a shot fired.
Borough police Chief Stanley Brozana said the incident occurred at 2:50 a.m., and the gunshot was described as a warning shot.
"There's a resident involved. Somebody came to the house," Brozana said.
He declined to provide the names of those involved, which also are not provided in the press release. No one was injured.
The owners at that address are Samuel J. and Sheila A. Deibert, according to the online Schuylkill County Parcel locator.
Brozana would not confirm if the Deiberts were involved in the incident.
"It's actually under investigation," Brozana said.
He was not sure if charges will be filed, saying that it is up to the district attorney's office.
"Under the Castle Doctrine, the guy might have been justified on what he did," Brozana said.
