ELIZABETHVILLE - A Williamstown man is headed to Dauphin County Court after waiving his right to a preliminary hearing Tuesday on charges arising from what prosecutors alleged were three separate incidents this year in the borough.
Lance L. Lucas Jr., 29, of 101 S. Water St., faces charges of defiant trespass and harassment in one incident; two counts of harassment in the second; and two counts each of aggravated assault and recklessly endangering another person and one each of terroristic threats and endangering the welfare of children in the third. Prosecutors withdrew four counts each of simple assault and harassment in the third case.
Magisterial District Judge Rebecca J. Margerum bound over all remaining charges for the county court after Lucas waived his right to the hearing.
State police at Lykens filed all three sets of charges against Lucas, alleging the incidents occurred on Jan. 8, March 11 and March 30 in Williamstown.
Lucas remains in prison pending further court action in lieu of $5,000 straight cash bail in each of the first two cases and $100,000 straight cash bail in the third.
Other defendants whose cases Margerum considered on Tuesday, the charges against each one and the judge's dispositions of the matters included:
Josh E. Shiffer, 31, of 344 E. Market St., Gratz; five counts of failure to collect or pay personal income tax; right to preliminary hearing waived, charges bound over for court.
William J. Sligh, 57, of 460 Moore St. Apt. B, Millersburg; driving under suspension and driving under suspension-DUI related; right to preliminary hearing waived, charges bound over for court.
