n Gordon: A healing ministry is set for 7 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at Simpson United Methodist Church, 117 E. Biddle St. Freewill offerings will be accepted. The ministry will be by Andy Hayner. For more information, call 570-875-2056.

n Llewellyn: Good Intent Hose Company No. 1, 12 Silverton Road, will sponsor a meat bingo at 1 p.m. June 1. Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door. n McAdoo: The McAdoo Fire Company will sponsor a golf tournament June 7 at Mountain Valley Golf Course, Barnesville area, to benefit the equipment fund. The tourney will have a 9 a.m. shotgun start, with a four-man scramble format. The cost is $75 per person. Hole-in-one prizes will be awarded on all par 3 holes. Lunch will be served at the turn, including burgers and hot dogs. Dinner at the firehouse will follow the tournament. Door prizes will be awarded. n Mount Carbon: Mount Carbon-North Manheim Township Fire Company No. 1 will flush fire hydrants in Mount Carbon borough, the Seiders Hill development and the Tumbling Run areas of North Manheim Township serviced by the company beginning at 6 p.m. Wednesday.

n Orwigsburg: The Orwigsburg Historical Society will have a free "Archaeological Show-and-Tell" with Francis Burke from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at its headquarters, 109 E. Mifflin St. Burke, according to a release, will present on his most recent archaeological discoveries and offer guests his expert opinion on their own discoveries. Burke is the author of "Schuylkill County's Buried Past." All are welcome. For more information, call 570-617-7809.

n Orwigsburg: The third annual golf classic to benefit Care Net of Schuylkill County is set for 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday at the Schuylkill Country Club. The cost is $75 per person, $300 per foursome, $25 club rental and $25 for lunch only. All proceeds will be used to support Care Net with programs including crisis pregnancy, parenting classes and life skills. n Pine Grove: The North End Fire Company, 118 N. Tulpehocken St., will sponsor a steak dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday at the firehouse. Tickets are $15 each and must be bought in advance. n Pottsville: The Type 2 Diabetes Support Group will meet at 6 p.m. June 5 at Schuylkill Medical Center-South Jackson Street, hosted by Diane Ehlinger and Ruby Paris. For more information, call 570-621-5020.

n Pottsville: Theresa Santai-Gaffney, Schuylkill County register of wills and clerk of the orphans' court, released the following report for April: Estates processed, 83; marriage licenses issued, 66; adoptions completed, 1; inheritance tax remitted to the commonwealth, $759,372.40; county fees collected, $18,484.25.

n Ringtown: The Ringtown Valley Fire and Rescue Company is holding its 2014 fund drive. Company members will canvass Ringtown and Melanie Manor and place letters at homes. Union Township residents and Ringtown businesses will receive letters by mail. The fire company called on residents to make sure they have address numbers on their properties. The numbers should be visible from the road so emergency vehicles can find the property easily. The numbers should be visible day and night in all directions. Residents are asked to complete the bottom of the letter, detach and return with the donation, which is tax deductible. Anyone who did not receive a letter should call the fire station at 570-889-3245 or fire Chief Raymond J. Dunsavage at 570-590-3153.
