Schuylkill County Crime Stoppers and Port Carbon police are asking for the public's help in locating a North Manheim Township man wanted for a domestic incident that originated in Pottsville on May 18 and continued into Port Carbon.
Port Carbon police said they are looking for Jose F. Cabrera Jr., 22, after he confronted a 21-year-old woman about 7:40 p.m. in Pottsville.
The woman, police said, began to walk to her mother's house in Port Carbon but was followed by Cabrera through the city and into Mechanicsville.
In the 200 block of Jackson Street in Port Carbon, Cabrera allegedly grabbed the woman and attempted to drag her onto nearby railroad tracks and into a wooded area, police said. When the woman resisted, Cabrera bit her forearm and then pushed her into a fence causing open scratches. A neighbor intervened, and Cabrera fled on foot into Mechanicsville.
Police said they obtained an arrest warrant for Cabrera and charged him with simple assault, stalking and harassment.
