n Ashland: The Ashland Rotary has scheduled two outdoor concerts this summer. The Shoreliners will entertain July 9 the parking lot of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. Prior to and during the concert, the club will sell hot dogs, sausage sandwiches, chips and drinks. The food service will start at 5:30 p.m. and the concert at 6:30 p.m. The Cressona Band will perform Aug. 13 at Eureka Park. The concert will be preceded by the club's annual chicken dinner. Tickets for the dinner will go on sale in July. Both concerts are free and open to the public. Those planning to attend are encouraged to bring lawn chairs.

n Ashland: The next meeting of the Ashland Community Watch is 7 p.m. June 10 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 35 N. Ninth St. The guest speaker will be Magisterial District Judge Christina E. Hale, Frackville, who will speak on cyberbullying. ACW President Charles Rice said letters to local businesses will be mailed asking for their support. In the near future, he said, a combined meeting with other surrounding community/crime watch groups will be scheduled.

n Frackville: St. John the Baptist Polish National Catholic Church will hold a Chinese auction for children ages 14 and younger on Saturday in the church hall, 414 W. Oak St. Doors will open at 4 p.m. and the auction will begin at 5 p.m. Parents are encouraged to accompany children. For more information, call 570-874-0119 or 570-573-1974.

n Frackville: Frackville Rotary Club member Noreen O'Boyle informed fellow Rotarians at a recent meeting about the efforts of the Muncy Rotary Club to provide potable water to people in Ecuador through a program in which Muncy has partnered with the Rotary Club in Quito, Ecuador. She said a team from the United States will shortly arrive in Ecuador to help with the project. John E. Domalakes, the club's Schuylkill Keep It Pretty chairman, thanked fellow Rotarians Robert Savitsky, Suzanne Domalakes, Charles Miller and Karen L. Domalakes as well as student of the month Stephen Mazur and other students for their assistance in the recent Frackville Rotary SKIP cleanup effort. The club has participated in every SKIP cleanup since the program's beginning.

n Mahanoy City: The Roman Catholic parishes of Blessed Teresa of Calcutta, Mahanoy City; St. Patrick, Pottsville, and St. Richard, Barnesville, are piloting a project called the St. Gabriel Catholic Kids' Club from June through November for children ages 4-10 or grades pre-K through four. Once a month, member children will receive a surprise in the mail related to a Catholic topic. They will receive a small gift, a craft they can easily complete and practical things to do that are related to that month's theme. The cost is $60 - $10 per month. Payment is due by Saturday. If there is more than one child in the home, the family can pay an additional fee. All enrolled children will receive an introductory packet and free gift. Centre St., is taking registrations for myriad programs, most starting in June, including summer day camp, gymnastics, big gym play group, artist in the making, variety sports and musical play camp. n Shenandoah: The Greater Shenandoah Area Historical Society will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday at its 201 S. Main St. history center. The speaker, attorney Jay Zane, will talk about "The Bloody First." Admission is free and the public is welcome to attend

n Tuscarora: The dates for the presentation of "Murder at Ford's Theatre" at The Strawberry Playhouse, 60 Church St., have been changed. The performances will be at 7:30 p.m. June 13, 14, 20 and 21 and 2 p.m. June 15 and 22.
