Ringtown is hosting this year's affair, which will be held on June 19 at Roman's Lounge and Catering Hall in Frackville. n Frackville: Frackville Rotary Club Treasurer Karen Domalakes announced at a recent meeting that the electric scoreboard the club and Rotary District 7360 bought for the Frackville Girls' Softball League has been installed at the softball complex at Plane Field. She said all Rotarians were invited to participate in the opening ceremony held on Memorial Day.

n Pottsville: The Schuylkill Area Community Foundation has announced a newly created fund called the Richard and Mildred Sharp Memorial Fund. SACF Executive Director Eileen Kuperavage said in a press release that Mildred Sharp was a longtime resident of Shamokin who died Jan. 21, 2013, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. She was a graduate of Shamokin High School, Class of 1931, then Bloomsburg State Teachers College and was a teacher in the Lincoln School. She married Richard Sharp in 1947. He passed on in 1988. During her lifetime, she worked with E. Lori Smith, financial adviser with Waddell & Reed, and with attorney James C. Bohorad to write the bequest through her will. The estate settlement of $298,152.84 is now pooled for investment purposes with 152 funds managed by SACF, Kuperavage said. The money supports different charitable giving goals as determined by the wishes of each donor. The annual earnings from the Sharp fund will be distributed equally to the First United Methodist Church of Shamokin, the Shamokin High School Alumni Association and the Shamokin/Coal Township Public Library, as specified by the donor. E. Lori Smith will be recognized as the 2014 Heritage Society Award recipient at SACF's annual event later this year. The award was established to acknowledge the professional advisers who share the value of philanthropy and encourage donors to create an endowment fund either during their lifetime or upon their death.
