Police investigate

storage unit thefts

ORWIGSBURG - State police at Schuylkill Haven are investigating several thefts that occurred between 5 p.m. Thursday and 9 a.m. Friday at Sunrise Storage in West Brunswick Township, police said.

Several storage units at the facility at 1213 Centre Turnpike were forced open and items inside were stolen, police said.

Anyone with information is asked to call state police at 570-739-1330.

4 businesses cited

for violations

The state Bureau of Liquid Control Enforcement in Bethlehem issued citations against four establishments in Schuylkill County.

The Oyster Bar, 113 to 115 S. Main St., Shenandoah, was cited Oct. 9, 2013, for selling alcohol to a visibly intoxicated person. The Greystone Restaurant, 315 to 317 N. Centre St., Pottsville, was cited May 7 for not cleaning a beverage dispensing system at least once every seven days and not maintaining records in conformity. Hucklebuck's, 114 E. Norwegian St., Pottsville, was cited May 21 for selling alcohol to a 19-year-old. Tassone's Catering, 318 Washington St., Port Carbon, was cited May 7 for operating after 2:30 a.m.

Charges will be brought before an administrative law judge who has the authority to impose penalties ranging from $50 to $1,000 for minor offenses and up to $5,000 for more serious offenses. The judge can also suspend or revoke a license based on the severity of the charge and mandate training on the requirements of being a licensee.
