Fugitive caught

NEW PHILADELPHIA - An investigation into a domestic disturbance led to a man being jailed as a fugitive from justice.
State police at Frackville said they were called to an apartment building at 18 Water St. for a disturbance between a man and woman.
When police arrived on scene, they learned the man had fled, but officers later located the man, identified as Donald A. Foote Jr., 29, on Route 209 near Clay Street. Police positively identified Foote and learned he had active criminal warrants for his arrest from Virginia Beach Police Department in Virginia.
The warrants included charges of grand larceny, statutory burglary and failure to appear for court, all felony offenses, police said.
Foote was arraigned by on-call Magisterial District Judge David A. Plachko, Port Carbon, and committed to Schuylkill County Prison unable to post $50,000 straight cash bail pending his extradition back to Virginia.
