Mahanoy Middle
Tiara Chescattie and Jordan McGee were named students of the month for May by Mahanoy Area Middle School faculty. The Student of the Month program is sponsored by Mahanoy City Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks Lodge 695, and nominees are judged on the basis of multiple achievements, character, leadership, citizenship and scholastic aptitude.
Tiara is a daughter of Betty Ann Chescattie, Barnesville, and Glenn Chescattie, Barnesville. She is a member of First Presbyterian Church, Mahanoy City.
Tiara is a member of the National Junior Honor Society, Community Out Reach Group and Theatre Arts. A distinguished honor student, she achieved perfect attendance in seventh grade.
Tiara volunteers her time at Relay for Life, First United Methodist Church food bank and Mahanoy Area Historical Society. She plans to attend college.
Jordan is a son of Michele Wagner, Mahanoy City, and Robert McGee, Mahanoy City, and is a member of First United Methodist Church, Mahanoy City. Jordan is a member of the National Junior Honor Society, seventh- and eighth-grade boys basketball team and intramural basketball.
A distinguished honor student, he volunteers his time helping with Mahanoy Area Biddy Basketball teams and plans to attend college in the future.
