Sovereign awards
For the third year, The Lift Your Spirits Performing Arts group sponsored the Heart & Soul Award at the Sovereign Majestic Awards ceremony that was held May 19 at North Schuylkill High School.
The award is given to one student from each high school, chosen by the director, who truly embodies the spirit of their show. Each student receives a certificate and a $25 monetary award presented by Lift Your Spirits.
The 2014 Heart and Soul recipients are: Jeffrey Lazarchick, Blue Mountain; Cassandra Griffiths, Minersville Area; Tyler Rossi, Nativity BVM; Zach Chernewski, North Schuylkill; Christopher Cooper, Pottsville Area; Sage Garbey, Schuylkill Haven Area; Lidia German, Shenandoah Valley; Jake Gursky, Tamaqua Area; Jessi Dean, Tri-Valley.
