Ashland man
faces charges
MAHANOY CITY - An Ashland man is facing charges by Mahanoy City police after an incident about 5:30 a.m. May 29 in the 200 block of East Centre Street.
Police said Raymond R. Hillibush, 34, of 708 Centre St., will receive a summons in the mail charging him with terroristic threats, institutional vandalism, disorderly conduct, public drunkenness and scattering rubbish.
Police said officers were alerted by a borough resident who reported seeing Hillibush knock over a trash can. When confronted, police said Hillibush told officers, "I want to be arrested."
At the station, Hillibush was placed in a holding cell where he blocked the toilet and sink, causing water to overflow onto the floor.
Police learned Hillibush was wanted on a bench warrant from Northumberland County and police said when officers were preparing to take him to Schuylkill County Prison on that warrant he said, "I can't wait to come back here 'cause you're done."

for Wal-Mart theft
SAINT CLAIR - An investigation into a March 17 incident at Wal-Mart led to charges of retail theft being filed by Saint Clair police against a Pottsville woman.
Police said Shauna N. Ruch, 23, was seen removing items from the store valued at $50.30 and fleeing into the parking lot.
Security found the woman hiding in a vehicle and positively identified her as the person responsible for the theft. The stolen items were found under the passenger's seat, police said.
4 face charges
for retail thefts
SAINT CLAIR - Four people were charged with retail theft by Saint Clair police after separate incidents at Wal-Mart.
On March 26, police said Sherry Monk, 24, of Pottsville, stole items valued at $47.86.
On April 4, Michael Ruben, 48, of Saint Clair, stole merchandise valued at $17.01.
On April 12, Aaron M. Williams, 23, of Pine Grove, stole items valued at $517.97. In this incident, police said Wal-Mart filed an order against Williams barring him from any Wal-Mart.
In the fourth incident, police said they charged Melissa Sue Robinson, 22, of Pottsville, with stealing items valued at $42.25. The date of that theft was not made available.
All four will now have to answer to the charges against them before Magisterial District Judge David A. Plachko, Port Carbon.
Police cite man
for rude conduct
SAINT CLAIR - Saint Clair police charged a man with disorderly conduct after an incident April 30 at a borough business.
Police said William P. Weik was cited after he repeatedly entered Second Street Hair Salon after being told not to do so.
Weik continually tried to solicit money, candy and cigarettes and his actions frightened customers, police said.
Weik will now have to answer to the charge before Magisterial District Judge David A. Plachko, Port Carbon.

for harassment
SAINT CLAIR - A Saint Clair woman was charged with harassment and disorderly conduct by borough police after an incident about 6:25 p.m. May 25 at Sand Castle Bar.
Police said Shirley Campion, 47, will now have to answer to the charge before Magisterial District Judge David A. Plachko, Port Carbon.
Police said officers were called to the business for a disturbance and learned from bartender Maggie Mazloom that Campion entered and punched her husband, Robert Campion, off a bar stool.
Man faces
assault charges
SAINT CLAIR - Saint Clair police charged a borough man with assaulting his wife about 12:15 a.m. May 27.
Police said officers were called to 575 E. Lawton St. for a report of a domestic assault and spoke to Kathleen Snukis, who was bleeding from the right side of her forehead.
The woman reported being physically assaulted by her husband, Edward Snukis, police said.
Charges of simple assault pursuant to domestic violence were filed against Edward Snukis who will now have to answer before Magisterial District Judge David A. Plachko, Port Carbon.
