n Mahanoy City: The Mahanoy City Senior Community Center will sponsor a free "Movie Madness" event at 1 p.m. June 25. The public is welcome to participate. The film "42" will be featured. n McAdoo: The McAdoo Fire Company sponsors weekly bingo games on Thursdays at the VFW/Strand Hall, South Kennedy Drive. Doors open at 5 p.m., early birds begin at 5:30 p.m. and regular games begin at 6 p.m. and go to 9:30 p.m. Parking is available in the fire company lot. Everyone is welcome.

n Pottsville: Attorney Leonard G. Schumack, president of the Schuylkill County Bar Association Scholarship Fund, announced that the fund will receive applications for aid for Schuylkill County students attending law school. To be eligible, applicants must be residents of Schuylkill County for three consecutive years and either must be enrolled in a law school accredited by the American Bar Association or have taken law school aptitude tests and applied for admission to a law school. Applications are available from the office of the Schuylkill County Bar Association Scholarship Fund, Law Library, Courthouse, 401 N. Second St., Pottsville, PA. 17901-1756. Applications must be submitted by July 31. The scholarship fund directors will study the applications, make awards and notify the successful applicants as soon as possible. This is the 37th year for the scholarship aid program. Last year, awards were made to 19 local law school students.
n Saint Clair: Robin Tracey, Tuscarora State Park naturalist, will lead the Wolf Creek Falls Hike set to begin at 1 p.m. Saturday. Walkers will meet at the northern end of the Wal-Mart parking lot off Route 61. The five-mile hike is rated difficult. Participants will go up the mountain to Wolf Creek Falls and beyond the the reservoir. The hike is dog-friendly, but all pets must be leashed and get along with people and other pets. In the event of inclement weather, the hike will be canceled.
n Schuylkill Haven: The Island Park Cruise-In and Car Show is set for 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 22 at the community's Island Park, Broadway and Fritz Reed Avenue. The cost is $5 to enter a car. There is no general admission fee to attend. The show will include refreshments, music, door prizes and people's choice awards. n Shenandoah: Francis Cardinal Brennan Knights of Columbus Council 618 sponsors hoagie sales the second Tuesday of the month. Proceeds from fundraisers enable the council to advance its charitable works.
n Shenandoah: The borough has an ordinance requiring people who walk pets on public streets or sidewalks to clean up after them. Those who do not are in violation of the law and can face a fine. Pet owners may not allow their animals to roam in the borough unleashed or out of control. Driving ATVs on public streets or areas where they are not allowed, such as parks or private property, also is unlawful. Anyone who witnesses such violations is asked to contact borough authorities.
