A Schuylkill Haven man is headed to prison after being sentenced Tuesday in Schuylkill County Court on a driving under the influence charge.
Christopher T. Czarick, 30, must spend three to six months in prison, President Judge William E. Baldwin ruled.
Baldwin imposed the sentence, which he made effective at 9 a.m. Friday, after revoking Czarick's placement in the intermediate punishment program.
Czarick originally entered the Accelerated Rehabilitative Disposition program on April 19, 2012. However, Senior Judge D. Michael Stine, who had admitted Czarick into that program, revoked his placement in it on March 25, 2013.
Czarick then pleaded guilty on Feb. 19 to DUI. At that time, Baldwin placed him in the intermediate punishment program for six months, and also sentenced him to pay costs, a $500 fine, $100 to the Substance Abuse Education Fund and $60 restitution to Schuylkill Medical Center-South Jackson Street, amounts Czarick still must pay under the terms of Tuesday's sentence.
State police at Schuylkill Haven alleged Czarick was DUI on Aug. 31, 2011.
Also on Tuesday, Baldwin sentenced Brenda M. Knoble, 48, of Allentown, to time served to 12 months in prison with immediate parole after she admitted violating her probation by not reporting to her supervising officer for more than five years.
"You basically just blew us off," Baldwin told Knoble.
Knoble pleaded guilty on May 23, 2007, to fleeing or eluding police, driving under suspension-DUI related and operating vehicle without valid inspection, with prosecutors withdrawing two counts of conspiracy and one of seat belt violation.
At that time, Baldwin placed her on probation for 11 months consecutive to her current sentence, and also sentenced her to pay costs and $1,125 in fines, amounts she still must pay under the terms of Tuesday's sentence.
Baldwin issued a bench warrant for Knoble on April 23, 2009.
Pottsville police charged Knoble with committing her crimes on Oct. 4, 2006, in the city.
In other recent county court action, Baldwin accepted guilty pleas from, and, pursuant to agreements between prosecutors and defendants, imposed the indicated sentences on, these people:
James J. Hossler Jr., 32, of Pottsville; carrying a firearm without a license; 18 to 36 months in a state correctional institution, $50 payment to the Criminal Justice Enhancement Account and submission of a DNA sample to law enforcement authorities. Brad M. Stevens, 24, pleaded guilty to corruption of minors, with prosecutors withdrawing a charge of statutory sexual assault.
Judge Cyrus Palmer Dolbin accepted the plea and, pursuant to an agreement between prosecutors and Stevens, sentenced the defendant to serve 11 1/2 to 23 months in prison, plus an additional three years on probation, pay costs and $50 to the CJEA, and have no contact with his victim.
State police at Frackville said Stevens corrupted the morals of the victim, a 15-year-old girl, on June 26, 2013. Assistant District Attorney Jennifer N. Lehman said the activity occurred at the skate park in Coaldale.
