Citations issued

for violations

MAHANOY CITY - Two citations were issued to a Mahanoy City woman after violations of the borough Nuisance House ordinance.

Borough code enforcement issued the two $1,000 citations to Charlene Lower, 509 W. Centre St., after giving her notice of the violations and giving her time to correct them. She was cited for numerous police calls to her house, according to Mahanoy City police.

Fugitive taken

into custody

TAMAQUA - A Tamaqua man was taken into custody on an outstanding warrant in the borough Tuesday.

Rush Township police took Jeremy Plasko into custody from an outstanding warrant from the borough at 27 Mahanoy Ave.

Tamaqua police assisted.

TAMAQUA - A 27-year-old New Philadelphia man faces driving under the influence and possession of synthetic cannabinoids after a stop May 23.

Rush Township police stopped Marc A. Greenaway on Claremont Avenue at 10:10 p.m. May 23.

Results of a blood test came back positive for XLR-11, police said.

TAMAQUA - An 18-year-old from Allentown is facing driving under the influence controlled substance charges after he was stopped by police in the borough.

Rush Township police said Nevin Holben was stopped for traffic violations at 12:04 a.m. on Claremont Avenue. Results of a test showed positive result for marijuana, police said.

TAMAQUA - Rush Township police are investigating a burglary in the borough resulting in two guns being stolen.

Two shotguns were stolen in the burglary at 27 Mahanoy Ave. in the borough. The incident was discovered Tuesday.

Charges were filed against a man in Schuylkill County Prison after he allegedly mailed a letter to his victims.

Rush Township police said charges for violating a protection from abuse order were filed against Edward Nesgota, 46, of Tamaqua, for mailing a letter to his victims.

The results of roving patrols conducted by the North Central Pa Regional DUI Enforcement Program have been announced.

On June 21, 26 vehicles were contacted and detained. Of that, three drivers tested for DUI. No one was arrested as a result.

There were 11 traffic arrests, 17 warnings issued and three police departments and three officers participated.

A patrol Saturday resulted in 11 vehicles contacted and detained and four operators tested for DUI. Two adults were arrested as a result.

There were 13 traffic arrests, three criminal arrests and four warnings issued.
