TREMONT - A Philadelphia man is headed to Schuylkill County Court after waiving his right to a preliminary hearing June 26 on charges stemming from a fire that occurred in March 2013 in Hegins Township.

Robert G. Grosser Jr., 34, of 5004 Penn St., Apt. A1, faces charges of reckless burning or exploding and dangerous burning.

Magisterial District Judge David J. Rossi bound over those charges for the county court after Grosser waived his right to the hearing.

Prosecutors withdrew a charge of arson.

State police at Schuylkill Haven alleged that Grosser caused the fire on March 3, 2013.

Grosser is free on $25,000 straight cash bail pending further court action.

Other defendants whose cases Rossi considered on June 26, the charges against each one and the judge's dispositions of the matters, included:

Craig J. Hendricks, 33, of 694 Forest Lane, Pottsville; possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia; charges held for court after preliminary hearing.

Trevor A. Jenkins, 24, of 18 S. Eighth St., Tower City; simple assault and harassment; charges withdrawn.

Michael W. Siegel, 20, of 21 Laurel St., Pine Grove; driving under the influence, disregarding traffic lanes, careless driving and minor prohibited from operating with alcohol; right to preliminary hearing waived, charges bound over for court.
