Frackville man
hurt in crash
BERNVILLE - A Frackville man was seriously injured when the 2003 Jeep Wrangler he was driving collided with another vehicle about 12:10 p.m. Thursday at Route 183 and Penn Bern Road in Penn Township, Berks County.
State police at Reading said Jeffrey J. Krolick was driving south on Route 183 as a Case International tractor driven by Kevin K. Krill, 38, of Bernville, was stopped on Penn Bern Road waiting to turn right onto Route 183.
Police said Krolick drifted out of the southbound and drove onto the shoulder, where his SUV struck the tractor and then rolled onto its driver's side coming to a stop in the center of the highway.
Police said Krolick was not wearing a seat belt, and his head struck the surface of the highway.
Krolick was taken to Reading Hospital with severe head trauma while Krill was not injured, police said.
Greenfields firefighters and EMS units from Blandon and Western Berks assisted at the scene and with patient treatment, police said.

CRESSONA - One person suffered minor injuries when two vehicles collided about 2:50 p.m. Wednesday on Pottsville Street, Route 183, in North Manheim Township.
State police at Schuylkill Haven said Gary Martinaitis, 53, of New Philadelphia, was driving a 2013 Dodge Caravan south when he tried to make a left turn near the entrance/exit of Hoss's Steak House and Ken's Tires and was struck by a 2012 Hyundai Sonata being driven north by Nanette R. Schlarb, 56, of Reading.
Police said Schlarb suffered minor injuries and was treated by Pottsville-Schuylkill Haven Area EMS while Martinaitis, who will be charged with vehicles turning left, was not hurt.
Cressona firefighters assisted at the scene, police said.

faces DUI charges
A Cressona woman faces DUI charges after a traffic stop at 10:53 p.m. Friday at McNulty's Car Wash, Pottsville.
State police at Frackville said Tabitha Schriner, 21, was driving her vehicle in an unsafe manner south on Route 61 near the Fairlane Village mall, East Norwegian Township.
After failing a field sobriety test, Schriner was taken to the Schuylkill Medical Center-South Jackson Street, where she refused to take a blood test.
Police discovered she had an outstanding felony arrest warrant from the Nassau County Police Department, Williston Park, New York, and Schriner was arraigned and committed to Schuylkill County Prison after being unable to post $20,000 bail.
Charges of DUI, careless driving, and driving on roadways laned for traffic will be filed through the office of District Justice David Plachko, Port Carbon.
