n Frackville: The seventh annual Memorial Poker Run sponsored by Frackville Elks Lodge 1533 is set to begin at 9 a.m. Aug. 9 at the lodge, 307 S. Third St. The cost is $20 per poker hand. The ride, according to a release, will encompass the Bloomsburg, Benton and Shickshinny areas, about 100 miles of riding. This year the lodge is offering a free poker run T-shirt to those who register by July 26. Registration will be from 9 to 11 a.m. with kickstands up by 11 a.m. There will be a free breakfast buffet before the run and a food buffet following the run, at the lodge. There will be various door prizes and musical entertainment provided by Nick Chikotas. For more information, call the lodge at 570-874-2500.

n Mahanoy City: The Mahanoy City Women's Club will sponsor a bus trip to the Christmas show at the American Music Theatre, Lancaster, on Nov. 9. The cost is $85, which includes the bus, lunch at Miller's Smorgasbord and the show. For more information or to make reservations, call Elizabeth at 570-773-1753.

n Pine Grove: An American Red Cross blood drive is set for 1 to 6 p.m. Monday at the Pine Grove Ambulance building, Spruce Street. People who are 17 or older, weighing at least 110 pounds and in general good health are eligible to give blood. n Pottsville: Libraries in the Pottsville public library district are participating in a Deppen pie sale now until Wednesday. The pickup date is Aug. 6. All proceeds will benefit the participating public libraries. The cost is $9 per nine-inch pie and varieties include blueberry crumb, double crust raisin, strawberry rhubarb crumb, apple crumb, peach crumb, double crust strawberry, shoofly, coconut custard, lemon sponge and no-sugar apple. n Pottsville: The Pottsville Rotary Club will mark its 100th anniversary with a dinner-dance tentatively slated for April 17, 2015, at Mountain Valley Golf Course, Barnesville. Plans, according to the Rotary Bulletin, are to invite current and former club members, friends of the club and Rotarians within the district. A 100th anniversary fundraiser and club projects are also being organized. Rotary volunteers are needed. The club also is collecting Pottsville Rotary memorabilia. Anyone wishing to contribute items should contact a committee member.

n Ringtown: The Ringtown Valley Fire & Rescue Company truck housing is set for July 26 with a parade at 7 p.m. followed by a program with guest speakers. The company will house its 2002 Pierce Engine/Rescue vehicle. There will be refreshments, mugs and shirts for sale. Due to apparatus parking, there will be no parking from 4 to 9 p.m. on Vine Street. n Schuylkill Haven: Penn State Schuylkill Athletics and the Penn State Schuylkill Alumni Society will host the first four-person scramble golf tournament with a 9 a.m. shotgun start Oct. 5 at Mountain Valley Golf Course, Barnesville. Registration is $65 per person, which includes golf cart, green fees, lunch and prizes. Proceeds will be used for Penn State Schuylkill student scholarships and athletic programs. Area businesses can become a sponsor for $50, which includes a sign placed on the course recognizing the business. n Shenandoah Heights: The regular monthly meeting of the West Mahanoy Township supervisors has been rescheduled to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the township municipal building, 190 Pennsylvania Ave.
