Certification
Joel Whitehouse, business program director at the Pottsville campus of McCann School of Business & Technology, achieved certification as a higher education professional (CHEP) through the National Associate of State Administrators and Supervisors of Private Schools.
NASASPS designated Whitehouse for achievement of the CHEP in teaching as recognition of his strive for excellence in the field of post-secondary education.
Whitehouse began his career as an instructor at the Pottsville campus in 1996 and has since been promoted to business program director.
He is advisor to the McCann Marketing Club, a member of Pottsville Kiwanis and serves as a curriculum specialist for Delta Career Education Corp. He also owns and operates a small antique business.
Top faculty award
Dr. Paul C. Lynch, a faculty member in the Harold and Inge Marcus Department of Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering at Penn State University, University Park campus, was named the 2013 Outstanding Faculty member in the Industrial Engineering Department.
He also received the 2014 PSEAS Outstanding Advising Award in the College of Engineering at Penn State.
Lynch was recently named a 2014 ASEE Air Force Summer Faculty Fellow. He will complete an eight-week summer faculty research experience with the Air Force at Eglin Air Force Base, Florida.
A 2000 graduate of North Schuylkill High School, he is a son of Barbara A. Lynch, Gordon, and the late Charles R. Lynch.
