A 64-year-old Pottsville man charged with sexually assaulting a 10-year-old girl in January is among those scheduled to plead not guilty Monday during arraignment in Schuylkill County Court.
William C. Hoy, 1122 W. Norwegian St., was arrested by Minersville police Patrolman Jeffrey Bowers and charged with unlawful contact or communications with a minor, unlawful contact or communications with a minor-open lewdness, indecent exposure, indecent exposure-person under the age of 13, endangering the welfare of a child, indecent assault-without consent and open lewdness.
Bowers charged Hoy in connection with a Jan. 28 incident that occurred when he was babysitting a girl while her female relative went to a doctor's appointment.
Bowers said the girl was sitting on Hoy's lap when he initiated the inappropriate contact.
While Hoy was in custody, Bowers said he admitted in a recorded conversation that he did indeed molest the child.
