faces theft charge
FRACKVILLE - State police at Frackville charged a Shenandoah woman on Friday for stealing $134.42 worth of clothing and make-up from Kmart at Schuylkill Mall, New Castle Township, police said.
At 1:50 p.m. Friday, store security observed Kayla Ann Weikel, 23, attempt to steal five shirts, two skirts, four pairs of panties, two bras and two packs of make-up. Security stopped Weikel and called police, police said.
Charges will be filed in the office of Magisterial District Judge David A. Plachko, Port Carbon.
Man throws coffee
in McDonalds
FRACKVILLE - State police at Frackville charged a man from Nicholson, Wyoming County, with disorderly conduct on Friday, after the man threw his receipt and his morning coffee at McDonald's Restaurant outside Schuylkill Mall, New Castle Township, police said.
At 7:30 a.m. Friday, Alden Roy Ayers, 60, placed a food order at the restaurant at 960 Schuylkill Mall Road and became upset because he felt his order was taking too long, police said.
Ayers threw his receipt at the counter and threw his coffee towards a trash can and, in doing so, the coffee spilled onto the floor and splashed some customers. Ayers then left the restaurant, police said.
Charges will be filed in the office of Magisterial District Judge David A. Plachko, Port Carbon.

FRACKVILLE - State police at Frackville are investigating a theft from a motor vehicle and criminal mischief which occurred in the parking lot of Kmart at Schuylkill Mall, New Castle Township, early Friday.
The victim is Clarence Alan Traugh, 56, of Ashland. A landscape brick was used to smash the passenger-side window of his 2007 Chevrolet Cobalt, which was parked at the lot. The vandal also removed a Samsung cellphone from the vehicle, police said.
The incident was reported at 8 a.m. Friday, police said.

in Palo Alto
PALO ALTO - Vandals tossed eggs at a vehicle in the borough early July 23, state police at Schuylkill Haven said Friday.
It occurred outside 318 W. Savory St. The victim is Thomas Witter, 46, of Pottsville, and the vehicle is a red 2000 Chevrolet Cavalier, police said.

near Pine Grove
PINE GROVE - A vandal slashed tires on vehicles in a parking lot in Pine Grove Township either Tuesday or Wednesday, state police at Schuylkill Haven said Friday.
The incident occurred at the lot just off State Route 4011 and Rausch Creek Road. Tires were slashed on a 2009 Tow Dolly and a 1974 brown Jeep, both owned by Allen Winn, 57, of Pine Grove, police said.
The vandal made four-inch cuts into eight tires owned by Winn, police said.

Woman to face
traffic charge
SCHUYLKILL HAVEN - A man and woman escaped injury in a two-vehicle accident in North Manheim Township July 23, state police at Schuylkill Haven said Friday.
At 12:38 p.m. July 23, Zofia Dobrzanska, 82, of Auburn, was driving a 2000 Hyundai Accent drove from a parking lot south on Route 61 and entered the left lane, police said.
This caused a southbound driver in the left lane, John R. Vadyak, 24, of Schuylkill Haven, driving a 1999 Subaru Legacy, to hit the rear of Dobrazanska's vehicle 98 feet north of Willow Street, police said.
Police charged Dobrazanska with a right-of-way violation.
Delivery driver
charged in crash
ORWIGSBURG - State police at Schuylkill Haven charged a Saint Clair man who drove a delivery van off the road and hit a utility pole July 23, police said Friday.
Anthony McElvaney, 45, of Saint Clair, was driving a 2012 Ford delivery van north on Hickory Drive just north of State Route 895, when he left the road and hit the pole with the truck's right front bumper at 6:19 a.m. Tuesday, police said.
McElvaney suffered a minor injury, police said. Police charged him with careless driving.
