TREMONT - Schuylkill County Crime Stoppers and state police at Frackville are asking for the public's help in finding those responsible for an arson fire Tuesday morning that damaged a borough business.
Tremont firefighters were called to the former Tri-Valley Pharmacy building at 5-7 W. Main St. at 3:34 a.m. and found heavy fire to the exterior rear portion of the building.
Crews from Tremont and surrounding communities worked to bring the fire under control and managed to keep the damage mainly to the rear of the buildings with minimal extension into the eaves and roof.
A state police fire marshal worked with Tremont fire officials and determined the fire was intentionally set.
In addition to damage to the former pharmacy buildings, fire officials said a building at 3 W. Main St. sustained minor damage to exterior siding.
Schuylkill County Crime Stoppers will pay up to $1,000 for information on the identity of those responsible for setting this fire or on any unsolved crime in Schuylkill County.
Callers are asked to refer to incident 07-28-13 when calling with information about the intentionally lit fire in Tremont.
