Tremont man
faces charges
TREMONT - State police at Schuylkill Haven charged a 24-year-old borough man with numerous charges after he struck another man with his car about 12:05 a.m. Monday.
Police said Troy Langtry was charged with aggravated assault, aggravated assault by vehicle, simple assault and numerous traffic violations.
Langtry, police said, drove past Robert J. Ditzler, 40, who was standing on the sidewalk in front of his 30 W. Main St. home.
As Langtry drove by at a high rate of speed, he hit his brakes hard and then put his 1996 Volkswagen Golf in reverse and traveled south onto the sidewalk, hitting Ditzler.
Langtry then fled the area on foot, police said.
Ditzler was taken to Schuylkill Medical Center-East Norwegian Street by Tremont EMS, where he was treated and later released.
Minersville and Pine Grove police assisted along with Tremont firefighters, police said.

assaulted mother
A 34-year-old Pottsville man was jailed after being arrested Saturday by Pottsville police on charges of aggravated assault and simple assault for injuring his 64-year-old mother, with whom he resides.
Police said Scott Poslosky, 400 Laurel Court, Apt. 401, was arraigned by on-call Magisterial District Judge James R. Ferrier, Orwigsburg, and committed to Schuylkill County Prison unable to post $25,000 straight cash bail.
Police said that about 8:30 a.m., Poslosky became involved in an argument with his mother, Carol Poslosky, that turned physical when the man pulled her by the hair and knocked her to the ground, rendering her unconscious.
Carol Poslosky suffered a laceration to her head and abrasions to her face and hands. She was taken to Schuylkill Medical Center-South Jackson Street by EMS for treatment.
She was then taken to Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, for additional treatment, police said.
Pottsville woman
faces charges
A 48-year-old Pottsville woman was arrested by Pottsville police after an incident about 3:45 p.m. Sunday at 527 N. Third St.
Police said Kathy Hosler, 529 N. Third St., was arraigned by on-call Magisterial District Judge James R. Ferrier, Orwigsburg, on charges of criminal trespass, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, criminal mischief and institutional vandalism. She was then committed to Schuylkill County Prison unable to post $10,000 straight cash bail.
Police said officers were called to the area and found Hosler unruly and uncooperative, refusing requests by officers to leave the property.
The woman was arrested and physically removed, police said, adding that while being taken into custody, Hosler resisted and had to be forcibly handcuffed.
Police said Hosler screamed obscenities and was highly combative, disturbing residents in the area. When placed in a cruiser, the woman continued to resist and damaged the driver's side rear door by kicking it, police said.

Nuremburg crash
NUREMBURG - A 20-year-old Fern Glen man is in serious condition after the 1997 Ford Aspire he was driving crashed on Mountain Road in North Union Township at 2:47 a.m. Sunday.
State police at Frackville said Victor S. Hons was driving north when he lost control, causing his vehicle to leave the road and strike a tree.
Police said the man had the odor of alcohol on his breath and body and he was not wearing a seat belt. He was taken to Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, by Shenandoah EMS for treatment of severe injuries, police said.
Nuremberg firefighters assisted at the scene and police said charges against Hons are pending the outcome of the investigation.

Frackville theft
GIRARDVILLE - State police at Frackville are investigating a theft from a vehicle that occurred in front of 8 W. Ogden St. between 12:30 a.m. and noon Friday.
Police said someone removed an orange U-Haul appliance dolly from a U-Haul truck that was parked and fled the scene.

near Hamburg
HAMBURG - A theft on the roadway in front of 413 Florence St. in Windsor Township, Berks County, between 5 p.m. Thursday and 2:30 p.m. Saturday is being investigated by state police at Hamburg.
Police said Michael Meyer, Hamburg, reported that someone removed a hitch from the rear of his vehicle and an extension cord from the bed and fled the scene.

DEER LAKE - State police at Schuylkill Haven are investigating a propulsion of missiles incident on Route 61, in the area of the Pines Development in West Brunswick Township, about 11:20 p.m. Sunday.
Police said a 2009 Peterbilt tractor-trailer owned by National Freight of Vineland, N.J., was being driven south on Route 61 when someone threw a rock toward the vehicle, hitting it in the lower portion of the windshield on the driver's side.

Allentown man
faces charge
AUBURN - A 34-year-old Allentown man was cited by state police at Schuylkill Haven for harassment after an incident on Market Street about 1:35 a.m. Saturday.
Police said Michael Matthews will have to answer to the charge before Magisterial District Judge James R. Ferrier, Orwigsburg.
Matthews, police said, put his hand around the neck of Tara McCabe, 33, of Auburn, and squeezed hard enough to cause injuries. The man also shoved McCabe during the incident, police said.

SCHUYLKILL HAVEN - A Pottsville man and woman will be charged with harassment by state police at Schuylkill Haven after an incident at 154 Second Mountain Road in North Manheim Township at 9:15 p.m. Sunday.
Police said the 31-year-old man and 30-year-old woman became involved in an argument, during which the woman tried to punch the man in the face three times and the man pulled the woman and pushed her to the ground.
Police did not identify the man and woman involved but said both will have to answer to the charges against them before Magisterial District Judge Carol A. Pankake, Tremont.
