TAMAQUA - A truck show held in memory of Logan Farr will take place Saturday at Heisler's Cloverleaf Dairy, 743 Catawissa Road, Walker Township.

All proceeds will go to the Four Diamonds Fund at Penn State Hershey Children's Hospital.

There will also be a 50/50 drawing and other prizes donated by local businesses.

Farr graduated from Blue Mountain High School, where he also played football, in 2009. He died Oct. 30, 2012, at 21 after a long battle with Ewing's sarcoma, a type of cancerous tumor, that started in his spine.

David Farr, Orwigsburg, said he and his wife, Sandy, wanted to give back to the Four Diamonds organization as a thank you for its financial support as their son went to several hospitals for various surgeries and chemotherapy.

"If you go in there and have a childhood cancer, you leave there with no bills," David said.

Farr also said the organization gave them vouchers for meals and gas.

"They did so much for us when we were over there," Sandy said.

She said her son was always at car shows. David said Logan bought his ideal vehicle, a Ford F-350, only a few months before he died.

"He negotiated one heck of a deal for this truck. It was what he always wanted," David said. "When he came home, he said he felt just like a kid at Christmas."

The show will run from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday. Vehicle entrance donation is $10. Registration will be Saturday. Sandy said all types of trucks are welcome, not just diesel.

"Whoever wants to come is welcome," Sandy said.
