PINE GROVE - The Penn State Master Gardeners will be hosting learning programs at Sweet Arrow Lake County Park.
Master Gardeners are volunteers trained by the Penn State Cooperative Extension with the goal of educating individuals and groups in gardening topics such as plant selection, composting, soil improvement, pest control, vegetable and flower gardening and pruning.
From 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, their presentation will be about four reasons to prune, proper cutting technique, the right time for landscape pruning and how to care for your pruning tools. The following week, the Penn State Master Gardeners will host a program about local pollinators from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the clubhouse. The program will discuss who they are, what they look like, how they affect plants and food, what kind of trouble they are in today and how homeowners can help them.
Both programs are free and open to the public. Dress for the weather as they will take place rain or shine.
