Widener

Kaitlin Palamar, Pottsville, graduated magna cum laude May 18 from Widener University with a bachelor's degree in nursing.

She was recognized for earning her degree with honors at a reception held May 17 by James Harris, Widener president. The honors program included enriched curriculum and participation in a variety of cultural and philanthropic activities in the Philadelphia area.

As a component of her nursing education, clinical rotations were completed at Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania; Neighborhood Health Agency, West Chester; The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia; Widener Partnership Charter School, Chester; Cooper University Hospital, Camden, N.J.; Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital, Darby, and Delaware County Memorial Hospital, Upper Darby.

Kaitlin was a presidential scholar, a member of Sigma Theta Tau, National Nursing Honor Society, Eta Beta Chapter, Order of Omega, Greek Honor Society, Zeta Nu Chapter and earned dean's list distinction throughout her college career.

As a student at Widener, she worked as a chemistry tutor with the Department of Academic Support Services, was a mentor for the honors program in general education, an active member of Delta Phi Epsilon Sorority and also volunteered with Habitat for Humanity in Tampa, Fla., and New Or-leans, La.

A 2009 graduate of Nativity BVM High School, she is a daughter of Theresa and Thomas Palamar, and a granddaughter of Nancy Palamar, Buck Run, and the late Ed-ward Palamar, and the late Kathryn and Roman Misstishin, formerly of Saint Clair.

St. Joseph

Ryan J. Boyer earned a bachelor's degree in finance from the Erivan K. Haub School of Business at St. Joseph University, Philadelphia, on May 11. He is em-ployed by BNY Mellon.

A 2009 graduate of Nativity BVM High School, he is a son of John and Carol Boyer, Orwigsburg.

The following students earned bachelor's degrees from Indiana University of Pennsylvania:

Johnathan C. Reiner, Klingerstown, management information systems; Joseph I. Woo, Orwigsburg, nursing; Alexis E. Specht, Pine Grove, respiratory care; Kerri L. Hegarty, Tamaqua, deaf education.

F. Dickinson

Adrienne Pinchot, Ashland, and Samantha Miller, Tamaqua, graduated in May from Fairleigh Dickinson University's Metropolitan campus, Teaneck, N.J.

Gwynedd Mercy

Alexis Bohr, Pottsville, graduated from Gwynedd Mercy College, Gwynedd, with a bachelor's degree in accounting and a 3.9 GPA.

She was co-founder of the college's business club and was a tutor during her four years at the college. She is continuing her education by pursuing a business certification.

She is a graduate of Pottsville Area High School.

Jefferson

Elizabeth K. Jones, Pottsville, was one of 257 graduates to receive a doctor of medicine degree at the 189th commencement of Jefferson Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University, Philadelphia.

She is a cum laude graduate of the medical college and a member of Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society and Hobart Amory Hare Honor Medical Society.

Dr. Jones will begin a residency in dermatology at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, Philadelphia.

A daughter of Joseph H. Jones Jr. and Suzanne M. Jones, she is a 2005 graduate of Blue Mountain High School and a 2009 graduate of Bucknell University, Lewisburg, where she received a bachelor's degree.

RIT

James Dudish, Ringtown, graduated from Rochester Institute of Technology, Rochester, N.Y., with a bachelor's degree in software engineering from RIT's B. Thomas Golisano College of Computing and Information Sciences.
