FRACKVILLE - A Gordon man was arrested Wednesday by Butler Township police and charged with molesting two young girls.
Christopher M. Turofski, 19, of 107 Gordon St., was charged with two felony counts each of indecent assault of a person under the age of 13 and corruption of minors, along with two misdemeanor counts of indecent exposure.
Lt. Daniel Holderman charged Turofski with incidents that occurred at a Gordon home between Jan. 1 and July 2.
Holderman said Schuylkill County Children & Youth Services contacted his department on July 2 to report a child sexually assaulted by Turofski and that he may have assaulted more than one juvenile.
Holderman said a girl, who was 12 at the time, reported waking up New Year's Day with Turofski lying alongside her exposing himself.
The girl said all of her clothes were on and she was not sure whether or not the man had touched her, Holderman said.
The girl also told authorities she knew of another incident when she was awakened by screaming from an 8-year-old girl and saw Turofski standing behind her.
The 8-year-old was interviewed and told authorities she had been sleeping on a couch but woke to find her knees on the floor and her chest on the couch with what felt like the man sexually assaulting her.
Holderman said the 8-year-old told authorities it felt like Turofski touched her with his private part and that she thought he pulled his boxer shorts up when she screamed.
On July 10, Holderman said Turofski was interviewed and denied exposing himself or touching any of the children. Regarding the child screaming, Holderman said Turofski told him he was getting a drink and the girl started screaming.
The man then agreed to take a polygraph test, which was administered Aug. 13 by state police Trooper Wesley Levan at the Frackville barracks.
After learning the results of the test indicated deception, Holderman said Turofski admitted performing a lewd act on the 12-year-old girl and on the 8-year-old girl.
Turofski was arraigned by Magisterial District Judge Christina E. Hale, Frackville, and committed to Schuylkill County Prison unable to post $50,000 straight cash bail.
