The first week of fall will offer typical temperatures for the season, according to the National Weather Service.

"Cold and dry," Mike D'Angelo, meteorologist for the NWS, State College, said Monday about this week's forecast.

Temperatures reached as high as 67 degrees and as low as 51 degrees on Sunday's fall equinox. About an inch of rain fell in Schuylkill County on Saturday with temperatures ranging from a high of 72 degrees to a low of 50 degrees.

Last week, temperatures dipped into the low 40s overnight.

"It was a little bit colder than normal," D'Angelo said. "Temperatures will be back up above normal all week long."

He said normal high temperatures for this time of year are about 70 degrees. There won't be a slight chance of rain until Sunday.

"This is fairly normal. If there's not some type of tropical storm, September and October are usually dry," D'Angelo said.

D'Angelo said temperatures will be comfortable for a while.

"We won't see freezing temperatures for at least another week and a half yet," he said. Upcoming fall events
